Charlotte & Joe | Markington Hall
Charlotte and Joe. Where to begin?!
I first met these two at Charlotte’s sister’s wedding on NYE 2017 and I was so thrilled when Charlotte got in touch to book me for her and Joe's wedding!
I knew it was going to be a brilliant day but I honestly wasn’t prepared to enjoy myself so much. Their wedding was absolutely 10/10 for me and everything I love about shooting a wedding.
The day started with a chilled bridal prep at Charlotte’s mums house. The whole house was covered in images from Holly & Krags wedding which made me so proud! Watching Holly help Charlotte get ready and into her dress was so heart-warming and really showed how close they are as sisters.
Charlotte looked stunning in her gown and had a suitably emotional reception from her bridesmaids and parents when they saw her ready and in her dress for the first time.
After a beautiful church ceremony at Ripley church, we headed to the wonderful Markington Hall where we started with some couples’ portraits of Charlotte and Joe whilst the guests arrived and got a drink.
The weather could not have been better and everyone was happy to mingle, chat and drink outside in the glorious sunshine before the speeches.
Markington Hall is one of my favourite venue’s I’ve ever shot at, and the fact it’s such a blank canvas to begin with gives coupes such a huge scope of what they can do with it to make it unique and personal to them. Having shot there once in August last year and then again this year, I can safely say I have a 100% sunshine success rate!
I was looking forward to Alan’s speech, having already heard what he can do as Father of the Bride at Holly’s wedding. He nailed it, of course… and I’m actually gutted they don’t have any more kids as I could quite happily photograph a Bowman wedding each year!
During the speeches at most of my weddings I often get a little bit emotional, but Joe’s ‘observations’ about Charlotte made me full on cry! (don’t worry – I hid it well by covering my face with my camera!)
The whole day was amazing. From the set-up of such a wonderful venue, adorned with huge tipi tents, to the biggest floral hoop I’ve ever seen, and a handmade (by the groom) photo backdrop for the guests. Not to mention the amazing families who made us feel really welcome.. again, the epic soundtrack throughout the whole day which was right up my street and also the incredible weather. It really was a wonderful day – I’d do it all over again!
