About me

West Yorkshire PhotographerEst. 2014

Hey, I'm Laura

Proud owner of Lumiere Photographic

Lumiere Photographic is a small independent business, founded on a love of photography, specialising in producing high quality images across a range of photographic avenues.

I initially started out in the world of photography shooting website images for a high-street fashion retailer, but the lack of creativity sent me mad. So I packed in my job, set off travelling around Europe in a motorhome for 6 months, and when I came back, Lumiere was born.

Starting my business in 2014 and getting the keys to my studio in 2018, it’s been one hell of a ride! I adore that I get to call this my job and I’m so lucky to work with so many incredible clients.

I now specialise in Weddings, Newborn and Boudoir, but I will also take on additional commissions for pet portraits, maternity session, cake smashes and even commercial work.

When I’m not taking pictures, editing, social media-ing etc, I’m usually with this absolute babe. My dog, favourite entity in the whole world, and bestie… Shelby.

Shelby was a nutcase of a puppy but I’m pleased to say has developed into a model lazy Labrador over the years. We alternate between walks up on Ilkley moor and snuggling on the sofa and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Much like Shelby, I spend my time mainly thinking about food. I’ve always been a total foodie and nothing makes me happier than planning my next meal! Takeaway pizza and a cold beer or a tasting menu with a top notch bottle of Malbec… I’m happy either way!

I love being outdoors. Summer is my favourite month. I love being warm.

I now actually enjoy going to the gym and find myself their most mornings. If I don’t go before 8am it’s not going to happen that day!

I love relaxing on the sofa, a good film or a top tv series are my happy place (with Shelby by my side of course). Ted Lasso & Schitts Creek are some of my top recent watches – but The O.C will always have my heart.

Travel is a huge passion of mine. I spent a month volunteering in South Africa at a Game Reserve where I got to help raise and bottle feed a white lion cub. I spent 6 months travelling Europe in a motorhome and also did the California coast… in a mustang no less!My sister and I are now visiting a different Greek island each year and I love exploring the Lake District.

Music has always played a huge part in my life. I’m physically allergic to silence and will constantly have music or podcasts on wherever I can.
I like to think my music taste is pretty broad. I was brought up listening to my dads rock, starkly contrasted with mums Enya and Beautiful South.
I love all music but I have a particular soft spot for country.
I love live music and have seen pretty much all of my favourite bands/artists live.

Welcome to my world, won't you come on in...

Tucked away in the leafy green woods of Esholt, the studio is located in “The Tannery”, just one of the many converted barn buildings in Home Farm business park. Boasting exposed beams and brickwork, the studio is a beautiful combination of rustic with a twist of modern and contemporary.

Entering the studio feels more like coming into my home rather than a business premises. My Nespresso machine awaits you, the kettle is always on and I have biscuits at the ready!

So whether you’re popping in to collect your products, coming for a photoshoot, or meeting with me to discuss your wedding, the studio will always be warm and welcoming.

I look forward to seeing you soon!
