Meet Amy and Josh, they got married at Hornington Manor on the most perfect winter day. You know the type I mean, crisp, dry and with the bluest of skies.

We met up with Amy and Josh on the morning of their wedding. Amy was getting ready at Hornington Manor with her bridesmaids. The atmosphere was electric and the fizz was flowing - just as it should be on a wedding morning! Meanwhile Josh was enjoying a couple of pints with friends and family. They were in high spirits and had a real laugh as they posed for photos on the way to the church.

Josh was so excited as he waited for Amy to join him, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house as she walked down the aisle and they couldn’t stop smiling at each other throughout the service.

The newlyweds emerged from their ceremony into a cloud of confetti and cheers from their family and friends before we all made our way up to Hornington Manor to continue the celebrations.

Hornington Manor is a luxury barn venue up in North Yorkshire. Originally built in the 16th century the Manor has been carefully restored over the years to create an utterly unique Yorkshire wedding venue. Amy and Josh held their ceremony in a nearby church however couples can also choose to hold a civil ceremony in one of the four licenced spaces at Hornington - outside at the Lych Gate or on the Lawn, in the airy, light filled Gallery or in the rustic Barn.

There are so many picturesque locations at Hornington Manor, we made the most of our portraits session with Amy and Josh and spent time exploring the grounds. The light was beautiful and the panoramic views across the countryside were the perfect backdrop to their pictures.

The wedding breakfast was held in the Barn. The exposed stone brickwork and soft canopy ceiling were lit by hundreds of fairy lights and candles. It looked beautiful. Everyone gathered in there for the hilarious speeches. One particular highlight was when Josh revealed he had sellotaped a childhood picture of Amy to the bottom of everyone’s chair. The reaction from everyone was fantastic!

As soon as I met Amy and Josh (and their family and friends) I knew the evening reception was going to be brilliant. They didn’t disappoint! As soon as the first dance was over everyone joined them on the dancefloor and the party really started. What a day!

Amy and Josh, I loved being part of your winter wedding at Hornington Manor. Here are some of the highlights.
